Another night out to see the Melbourne Internation Comedy Festival, tonight it was Ross Nobel to see his show Randomist.

It was in the main hall in the Melbourne town hall, after the last weeks parking problem we decided that we should just park at Federation Square considering that it proved to be easier to get around.

The show I thought was fantastic, I had always liked Ross Nobel because he reminded me of Billy Connelly and his style was very similar I thought.
The set was a bit weird but I thought that it fitted with the theme of the show, the other thing that I was interested to see was his fractured arm which I saw on Rove Live a few weeks ago. He moved around a lot on stage so the arm wasn’t doing him too much trouble but he did seem to suffer near the end after some weird jumping in tandum with a joke that he was doing.

I liked the way that he was able to feed off the audience and run with it and the fact that he started with something and then went of three different tangents but somehow always managed to come back to the starting point and always in the funniest of ways.
I not certain if he actually planned anything to say during his show, I think that he might have planned a few things but to be able to have the confidence to make things up on the spot I thought was fantastic.

His ability to take something that is normal and most of the time meaningless and make it hilarious, like toenails, dwarves, Bec Cartright or Alex Loyd, is an amazing skill in its self and something I wish I had.
There was a bit were I got a little bit lost with what he was doing, but it was something that I was expecting and wasn’t surprised but I was a little confused.

Overall it was a great show, would recommed it to anyone as long as they are prepared to laugh.
