The complexity of this book is almost overwhelming, but it’s in this grand scale that the story telling ability realy comes out, how the author was able to keep track of story lines and characters would have been hard.
It picks up right where the other left off, I am amazed at the complexity at which the author is able to weave stories yet still keep it interesting, and the fact that he isn’t afraid to put his characters through so much hardship, but unlike other books you feel the emotional pain though the story telling such is the mastery of his words.
Personally I thought that the book was a little long and was glad to finish it but I would have anyway, considering that this series is still a work in progress I’m not too sure how much I can take but I will continue in any case.
An absolute must for any avid reader of any genre, I really do think that Martins’ ability to tell a story puts this series of books beyond classification to a particular type or category.
